BC Parks proposed policy change threatens Provincial Parks’ use

BC Parks Intentions Paper Regarding a Policy on Management of Existing Ski Resorts within Provincial Parks

BC Parks is proposing changes to the Ski Resort Development Plan that would treat ski resorts in BC Parks the same as ski resorts on Crown land. This could have the potential of allowing further commercial enterprises in our Provincial Parks. Local resorts have already put restrictions on the non-paying public. The proposed changes may lead to gradual loss of current public enjoyment these parks and could lead to further environmental degradation.

BC Parks has made a deadline of June 29th, 2014 for feedback. This does not permit adequate public input. Please go to their website and let your opinions be known.   Submit your comments http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/permits/consultation/ski-hill-policy.html
